For those who are interested in a full-time or part-time career in recreational Diving. We will fine tune your supervision and leadership skills necessary to assist instructors with classes or independently guide certified divers and snorkel tours

Course Overview

The Divemaster Course is your first step in a dive career. Working closely with a Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your dive skills to a professional level, as you learn. Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

 

Some of The Topics you will Cover in this Class

  • lead by example, act as role model
  • prevent and manage dive emergencies
  • Dive management and supervision abilities/skills
  • competence as a certified assistant
  • Problem Solving abilities
  • Professional-level knowledge of dive theory

 

Course Content

  • Learn dive leadership through classroom and independent study sessions
  • Water skills and stamina exercises in confined and open water
  • Training exercises to test organizational and problem solving abilities
  • An internship or series of practical training exercises

 

What you can do as a Divemaster

  • Work at local dive centers, on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic resort locations
  • Assist Instructors with students
  • Lead Scuba Divers on guided dive
  • Teach and certify Skin Divers
  • Teach Snorkeling programs
  • Conduct SCUBA refresher courses for certified divers
  • Lead certified divers on Local Diving experiences
  • Teach Emergency First Response programs after successful completion of an EFR Instructor course.

 

Prerequisites

  • Advanced Open Water Diver
  • Rescue Diver certification
  • Medical clearance signed by a physician
  • 20 logged dives at start of Course (60 logged dives required for certification)
  • 18 years old
