The Master Scuba Diver rating denotes that you've reached the highest, non-professional, recreational diver certification level. This certification indicates you have a significant amount of training and experience in a variety of dive environments. To obtain this recognition the diver must specialize in at least 5 different areas of diving. In addition to expanding your general diving skills in different dive environments, certain specializations, such as Enriched Air Nitrox and Wreck Diver, allow the diver to participate in activities that are otherwise beyond the scope of their training, such as diving nitrox air mixtures to extend bottom times and using guidelines to safely penetrate wrecks.
